For beaches in Litoral Norte (North Coast), São Paulo, Praia de Maresias is highly recommended for its vibrant atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and lively nightlife. If you prefer a quieter, more traditional experience, Praia Paúba is known for its peacefulness and fishing village vibe. For families and those seeking relaxation, Praia da Lagoinha offers serene beauty and clear waters.

Maresias is a district of São Sebastião city and its beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the north coast of São Paulo State in Brazil. Although it is a world-famous destination for the surf championships and its active nightlife, Maresias has much more to offer.

On one side the forest and on the other, the sea. Did you know that São Sebastião city has more than 30 beaches and has 70% of its territory on the Serra do Mar State Park? Surrounded by the Atlantic Forest, Maresias brings access to ecological diversity through trails, waterfalls and natural formations.

Maresias is located 160km away from São Paulo city (the capital of São Paulo State), 100km from Ubatuba, and 25km from the center of São Sebastião, on the north coast. A lot of people think that Maresias is a city, but it is actually a neighborhood.

Praia Paúba is a calm and tranquil beach located near the more popular Maresias in São Sebastião, São Paulo. It's known for its peaceful atmosphere, clear waters, and relaxed vibe, making it a great option for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and surfing, as well as exploring the surrounding area with activities like hiking and boat tours. The calm waters of Praia Paúba are perfect for swimming and relaxing on the sand. The beach offers good surfing conditions, especially for more experienced surfers due to the strong waves. There are also surf schools available for those who want to learn.

As a more moderate traveller you might prefer to consider taking a boat tour to explore the coastline, visit nearby islands, or go snorkeling. Explore the trails in the surrounding area, such as the Fosso do Caetano, which is also a great spot for biking, or simply enjoy the local cuisine and seafood at the restaurants and bars near the beach. A must for less energetic tourists is to find a spot on the beach, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Praia da Lagoinha is a tranquil and beautiful beach known for its calm, clear waters and family-friendly atmosphere. It's located in Ubatuba, Brazil, and is characterized by its fine, golden sand and surrounding lush vegetation. The beach is relatively secluded and offers a peaceful escape, making it popular with families and those seeking relaxation.

The beach is known for its gentle waves and clear, shallow waters, making it ideal for swimming, especially for children and those who prefer calm seas. The calm waters, ample space for children to play, and nearby restaurants and kiosks make it a great spot for families.

Praia da Lagoinha boasts golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation, offering a picturesque setting for relaxation and enjoyment. The beach is relatively secluded and less crowded than other beaches in Ubatuba, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Besides swimming and sunbathing, visitors can enjoy snorkeling, hiking, and exploring the nearby trails, including the famous Trilha das Sete Praias (Seven Beaches Trail).

The beach is easily accessible by car and is located along the Rio-Santos highway. While there are a few kiosks and restaurants, the beach maintains a more secluded and natural atmosphere compared to more commercialized areas.

There you have it, several options of where to go for a short break!

Take care!
