Bolsonaro could face up to 32 years in prison in the jewelry case alone. There is evidence that Bolsonaro and his allies acted to divert gifts received due to the position they held, according to the Brazilian Federal Police (PF).
Judging by his snapshot pose Jair Bolsonaro appears to be almost in tears. The schoolboy tantrum kid looks like he has been condemned to execution by beheading; a guillotine to decapitate him.
According to one Brazilian newspaper, former President of the Republic Jair Bolsonaro from the Liberal Party (PL) will face between 10 and 32 years in prison if convicted in the Saudi jewelry case, in accordance with current legislation.
Another newspaper says, if it is proven that Bolsonaro hid or disguised “the nature, origin, location, disposition, movement or ownership of goods, rights or values arising, directly or indirectly, from a criminal offense”, he could be sentenced to between three and 10 years. There is also provision for payment of fines for money laundering.
Fabio Wajngarten, the lawyer for former president Jair Bolsonaro, classified his indictment by the Federal Police in the Saudi jewelry case as an “arbitrary, unfair and a persecutory” initiative. Framed for the crimes of money laundering and criminal association, he says he was indicted “for complying with the law”. “Legal advice is not a crime,” he reacted.
The lawyer posted a long text on his profile on “I will appeal to all levels of justice to contain the abuse of power and this arbitrary attitude of a member of the PF, who cannot be confused with the corporation as a whole”, he narrated.
Here is the latest news! Bolsonaro stole jewelry from the Union since the first year of government!
It's absolutely unbelievable! In turns out that Mauro Cid, former principal advisor to president Jair Bolsonaro was totally devoted to the smuggling of stolen jewelry from Brazilian public assets to the United States which is incredible. Cid seems to lack the most basic common sense with such actions which show the extent of his governmental leadership skills, just like his boss, Jair.
They have found an email from the end of 2019 confirming the involvement of both of them. In other words, Bolsonaro had already been stealing jewelry that he received from abroad since the beginning of his term in government!
In another email, Cid admits that the jewelry belonged to the Union, because the store says that they had been an “official gift” from the UAE government, in October 2021.
The PF report also contains bank statements that show the deposit of the sale of the jewelry into the account of Mauro Lorena Cid, Mauro Cid's father, the withdrawal of part of that money, and the payment of bills at the hotel where Bolsonaro was staying, in Florida. You might ask, were these perks of the job, or damn right theft?
So, what happened to Bolsonaro’s pledge that he wasn’t corrupt? According to the dictionary what he did with Cid’s complete support is a financial fraud and a form of corruption that occurs when a person entrusted with someone else's money or property steals it.
The lesson here is politicians think they are cleverer than ordinary people, when in actual fact Bolsonaro lied through his teeth. It doesn’t matter the value of what he took, but the principal of corruption is the same.
Once people are given a prestigious title and they steal after promoting quite literally that they are a saint, then it only goes to show how dishonest they are.
In Bolsonaro’s case I couldn’t really understand why he was elected. And I take some responsibility for that, as many people suggested trying him out because of the lack of presidential material which I supported after much coaxing.
His fanatical fans got on their motorbikes and started following the “rock star” on biker rallies spread all around Brazil like Mussolini and his fascist regime in Italy from March 1925 to April 1943 when he was finally voted out of power. Yes, Bolsonaro’s ego was on par with Mussolini!
Once in, he even admitted that without Paulo Guedes as Brazil’s Financial Minister, he wouldn’t know what to do. I think that alone is enough to make people realize his loud mouthed whilst rude approach to politics was his outlet to prove he had something to offer.
However, when you stop to think about it, the only thing he did was to criticize others, as if he was the best thing since sliced bread. Well, savvy people realize he was far from that.
When Bolsonaro sold publicly funded businesses (privatization) to the tune of R$304 billion he could also have been receiving backhanders. Just because Maggy Thatcher did it in the 1980s doesn’t mean it should be copied in Brazil. Even with all that money coming in, when he left office in 2022 with R$51 billion positive in the safe he had squandered R$253 billion.
People don’t seem to realize that detail, but needless to say as a detail man I am quick to have realized Bolsonaro was all talk with no real merit apart from bragging about how good he was and that others “governors” are responsible.
What really amazed me even further was the sheep that flocked after him, as though he was a Marvel comic book hero like Superman, or captain Britain, except he wanted to be known as the “Capitão do povo”.
I think his real downfall was the way he handled the pandemic. He showed no compassion for his people apart from using the economy to substantiate why potential victims should continue working while ignoring health warnings like using masks.
He eventually bragged about how much support he was giving people who had lost their job and were unable to survive to the sum of $100 a month for 6 months during Covid, known as a relief package. He went on further to say he was providing a better financial package than other nations. Well, any savvy person knows that is complete crap.
Personally, I felt like he was a professional liar that sucked in puppets in the sense that he could control them with all the bullshit that came out of his mouth. He really did have the gift of the gab for suckers!
Lastly, but not least he was against a vaccine which meant it wasn’t about what the people wanted, but rather towards inflating his ego of megalomania.
The majority of Brazilians had had enough after his first term in office. Let’s all thank him for his service by giving the captain one final salute!
Take care!
