Mercedes-Benz Week

My father-in-law used to be perhaps the first pioneer replacement car spare parts importer for Mercedes-Benz in Brazil from OEM manufacturers like Febi, Bilstein, Mann, BEHR, TRW, Pierburg, Elring, Bosch, Lemforder, amongst others.

OEM Simply put, OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts were built by the same company that manufactured the parts that originally came with vehicles. Structurally, genuine parts are the same as OEM. The only difference is that Mercedes-Benz genuine parts bear the Three-Pointed Star.

One of the biggest questions for car owners has been what is the difference between OEM and OE? OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. OE stands for original equipment. OE parts are the components of the vehicle as it's made in the factory – all of the original parts that the car was first built with.

One top of the range Mercedes-Benz cars is an AMG GT R Coupe which is priced at around $500,000.00 (R$2.5) million. In Europe you can buy one for less than $200,000.00.

Mercedes-Benz announced the arrival in Brazil of the PRO version of the AMG GT R in 2019, which brought aerodynamic changes and weight reduction for even better performance on the track. With worldwide production limited to 750 units, the super sports car arrived at R$1.7 million and all five units destined for Brazil were sold before arriving.

Jeremy Clarkson’s YouTube report says it’s uncanny while he admitted that a more rapid engine version will be coming out in the future, so doesn’t recommend buying one, Check it out for yourself:

It certainly looks super-duper and if you have the money to spare could be an interesting purchase. Clearly, it’s an awful lot of car. I agree with Jeremy, if you really want one then hold onto your cash until they launch the bigger engine version.

Have a wonderful day!
