Whether liked or not, Jews are a minority. As such they have been persecuted throughout history. It reminds me of the school bully who always has his mates by his side while intimidating others.

People usually choose a side, as many of them cannot be bothered to think outside the box and take a stance on a situation. The expression, follow the crowd isn't something new. It's like a beacon of hope. People hone in on it, as the light attracts them; it offers safety; a kind of comfort that they will be alright. Compare it to being on a ship lost at sea. The sea is harsh and a thunderstorm is making it difficult to navigate. A lighthouse flashes whilst revolving and every time the bright light is seen, the captain believes he's on the right trajectory.

Take a Palestinian state for an example. 150 countries now are rooting for a Palestinian state, somewhere they can call their own. People have forgotten that Gaza was given exclusively to Palestinians to govern in 2005. Yes, correct that 20 years ago Israel made their own decision to pull out Jews living and working in the region, in order to allow the Palestinians to get on and prosper.

If we go back 100 years and follow the history up until today there has been several peace deals put together to create a Palestinian state, alas every time Palestinians have rejected the deals. The fact of the matter is there are some two million Arabs living in Israel with the same rights as Jewish Israelis, so are we to really think this group of Palestinians who are on the war path are innocent and that they are entitled to land when the reality is they have done everything possible not to find an amicable solution.

Unfortunately, there is a common belief between Palestinians that the land is theirs and that Israeli people are not welcome. Intifada is the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, beginning in 1987. However, anybody who cares to analyze history will start to get the bigger picture that chants, such as "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," is a direct attack on Jews to leave the land. Where is the diplomacy here?

Palestinian supporters, in reality are Hamas followers meaning they think terrorism is right because their minds believe Palestinians are without their own land victimized by Israelis. Palestinians have used the demolition of Gaza as the stepping stone to encourage support, and have done so many times before. People with a heart are under the impression that Israel is committing genocide. However, that's what they want people to believe based on propaganda and a call for unity to make the defender of it's land the instigator.

Yes, it does look like Israel is the aggressor, but Hamas has been anything but correct by holding on to hostages and using them as bargaining chips. Hamas has been behind the whole sordid event since more specifically 7th October 2023 when barbaric Palestinian terrorists invaded Israel on the Jewish holiday Shmini Atzeret for Hebrew Year 5784 which began on Friday, 6 October 2023 and ended on Saturday, 7 October 2023. Shemini Atzeret (שמיני עצרת - “the Eighth [day] of Assembly”) is a Jewish holiday.

Israel had to react by sending the Israeli Defence Force - IDF to defend Israel and free the hostages. Why do you think Israel stuck it out for so long? You see, Palestinians built their own grave, or more like Hamas, a Palestinian group that runs the state created the war in the first place. Why is it, so many people around the world are opposed to Jews when the aggressors are Palestinians?

Finally the 20 remaining hostages have been liberated, but another detail: Israeli ministers approve list of more than 1,700 Palestinians for release. In other words, prisoners of war are going to be released in order for the hostages to be returned. How absurd is that? Hostages were minding their own business when they were set upon and taken prisoners of war. It is a completely different ball game when you think the Palestinians were held captive for attacking Israeli citizens.

Where is the justice here? It makes me sick to think there are so many, unfortunately naive Palestinian supporters when the reality is they do not understand the whole picture. It's like a true art lover can interpret a masterpiece by intrinsic authenticity to paint an inspirational piece whilst other less astute viewers are uninspired and totally clueless of origin. Israel occupies less than 1% of all the Arab countries tied together in the region, so why do Palestinians provoke relentlessly to cause trouble when they could live in peace.

I wasn't born Jewish, but married a Jew almost 40 years ago. From my experience, Jews aren't perfect, but then nor are Christians or people from any other country or religion. However, most people try to live together in an imperfect world. Those who respect each other are more likely to succeed. Those who antagonize others are heading for trouble.

Times are changing, and one common denominator is a feature shared by all members of a group. Let's consider ourselves from all walks of life as one group, one people, homo sapiens avoiding scandal whilst accepting each other’s flaws.

Take care!

Vocabulary builder:

Think outside the box (idiom) = means to think in an original or creative way. "You have to give him credit for thinking outside the box." People who think outside the box don't follow the crowd.

"Hone in on it" means to focus your attention with precision on a specific thing, goal, or target, similar to "sharpening" your focus. It can also be used to describe the act of moving directly toward a target, as with a missile, though many sources note that "home in on" is the more traditional and often preferred phrasing for that meaning.

Rooting (v) = to show support for someone who is doing something difficult: Good luck! We're all rooting for you.

Intrinsic authenticity = is the state of being your true self, driven by internal values, beliefs, and desires rather than external pressures. It is an inherent and genuine quality that comes from within, a sense of integrity where your thoughts, feelings, and actions are aligned and consistent with your core self.

Sordid (adj) = involving ignoble actions and motives; arousing moral distaste and contempt.

"the story paints a sordid picture of bribes and scams"

Relentlessly (adv) = in an unceasingly intense or harsh way.
